ITQ - Help Your People Do Their Job Better
ITQ is a new IT user qualification and training package that is tailored to your business needs. Whatever your business, it ensures your staff have the skills they need to do their jobs.
"What ITQ allows you to do is transfer the learning straight back into the workplace."
Nick Moody, Training Manager, Fortnum & Mason
There is a range of government funding for ITQ, so you may be able to get trained and assessed for free. To find out whether you qualify, click through and fill out the form. We will get back to you shortly.
ITQ Improves Productivity
ITQ is based on meeting your needs. Our trainer comes to your site and assesses the work your people do and the IT skills they need. They then receive a mixture of classroom training at Happy and one-to-one coaching in the workplace. At the end they are assessed not on an exam but on the documents they can now produce for their job.
"I was quite amazed at the better quality of work I have been able to present."
Beryl Mann, Training for Life
Because it is so focused on work, those who have achieved ITQ so far report that their new skills gain them an average 32 minutes a day - in being able to use software more productively. That means an average 24 hours of learning results in a productivity gain of 8%, or 120 hours over a full year.
How Does ITQ Work?
ITQ is a new qualification that has been developed by e-skills UK and the Learning and Skills Councils. The key elements are flexibility and workplace assessment:
Flexibility:
You choose which subjects you study. One person might focus on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet while another might cover security, trouble-shooting, maintenance. Or you might prefer building web-sites, artwork and imaging and presentation.
“As ITQ is more work based, people can see the benefit of what they are doing.“
David Congalton, Training Manager, Emprise Services
Workplace assessment:
The key question is not whether you can pass an exam but what impact your learning has on your ability to do your job. The assessment will therefore be on the basis of the actual work you do as a result of the course.
“Using Publisher I have been able to create posters, tickets, information booklets and newsletters.”
Rebecca Colthup, Wimbledon Racquets Club
